Last Night's Dinner and tonights

It was really simple, I made tacos. But to make my husband extra happy, I added some splash. I brought in chives, green peppers, and red peppers. It was scrumptious. And it was cheap. I already had all of the ingredients, so I really cannot figure out the cost, but I know it was cheap. Nothing there is really expensive, and we have leftovers. I would guess dinner was $3/person.

And tonight for dinner, we are going to have pan-fried crab cakes (they were on sale for $2 for two) with frozen veggies and Parmesan Rice. Frozen veggies are about $1.00, and the rice has my dear old Wildtree seasoning to make it all Parmmy and not just rice. I would put tonight's dinner at $2.50/person.

Yay!!!!

Long Time, No Talk

I am so sorry. I have been neglecting you! This week, I am attempting to save money by cooking GOOD meals on the CHEAP. However, I am not going to lie that Tony's Pizzas may be part of the plan when I am not inspired. They are locked and loaded in the freezer (5 for $10). SO here is what I have done so far...

Last night: Shrimp Scampi with Broccoli over pasta
- Wildtree Scampi blend
- Wildtree Roasted Garlic Grapeseed oil
- 1/2 lb of shrimp
- Whole wheat pasta
- 1/2 lb of frozen broccoli
= Probably around $7 for a fancy feast, $3.50 per person

This morning I made 2 lbs of Turkey breakfast sausage, 14 eggs, and 16 buscuits, put them together with 2% cheese, and whala, 15 breakfast sandwiches, which are now nestled in the freezer, ready to be re-heated.
= Less than $1 per sandwich... Beat that Jimmy Dean!!!

And for dinner tonight, I am making Acorn Squash ($0.69) with Cheesy Potato Soup ($2.50)
= $3.50, $1.75 each

Why am I so inspired? Yesterday I got a big package in the mail with my recent Wild Tree purchase. I got a ton of great grape seed oils and seasonings. With these, I can just buy the basics (veggies, meat, rice, noodles, etc) and make WONDERFUL meals. I cannot wait to start. Trust me, more is to come...
