October is a major Awareness month. So far I know of Breast Cancer, Bullying and Fire Prevention Awareness. While I firmly believe we should be aware of these, it makes me laugh that we have to have a month to be aware, and then how there are so many things in one month. So I have decided to create a Jessica Awareness calendar. Please enjoy. Or comment. Or make your own. We could use MORE things to be aware of.
January: Holiday Weight Gain Awareness
February: Single People Awareness
March: Gambling Addiction Awareness (thanks to March Madness)
April: Tornado Awareness
May: Jessica's Birthday Awareness
June: Not in School and Have to Work All Summer Awareness
July: Deodorant/Antiperspirant Awareness (and I know Scarlett declares this Scarlett's Birthday Awareness)
August: Water Bill Awareness
September: NFL Widow Awareness
October: Candy Addiction Awareness
November: Tryptophan Awareness
December: Family Drama Awareness
My Little Fabulous Obsessions
My passions run deep, and I have learned throughout the years that my friends actually appreciate my thoughts and finds. I have helped multiple friends shop for deals, actually just shopped for the guys and brought them new clothes, and helped friends and family decorate. So why not blog my ideas and finds?!?! Maybe I can help someone I don’t even know! Maybe I can inspire someone! And maybe someone will have some awesome ideas my little brain can’t even think of!

19 Days, and I Cannot Wait
First of all, SORRY. This is more of a healthy release, so it doesn't come out in the wrong place. This is all political, so please feel free to stop reading at any point.
I believe that everyone has different opinions and values, and that really comes out during the Election process, but some people really do cross a line.
Facts:
Neither candidate is a bad person
Neither is a great person, they got there for a reason
Everyone thinks differently
I work with a large group of Republicans. I don't have any issues with that. I keep my mouth shut, and they know that I am more liberal. But a few of them often decide to talk politics with me, and proceed to bash the hell out of Obama. I try to be respectful and take the high road, but its so hard.
What is worse is that most of them don't pay enough attention to really understand how it will affect them. That drives me nuts. They hop on the "he's a Muslim" or "he wasn't born here" bandwagons, which is crazy and makes the rest of what they say even more difficult to listen to. The president does not personally regulate gas prices, and guess what, the economy didn't take a nose dive just because Obama took office. Yes, we are not in a great position, but we are slowly getting better. I don't think if McCain (or Romney for that matter) was elected, it would have been any different in 2009. The crash would have still happened. And we wouldn't have magically recovered right away. Stop saying that one person made this happen. You sound ignorant when you do.
Just because I am young and female does not mean I do not understand what is going on in the world. We have different view points. I am trying very hard to respect yours, and I would appreciate it if you would do the same.

Pin Check
I decided to review a Cleaning Pin and see how it worked. Overall, I will give it a B.
http://pinterest.com/pin/176836722839723920/
1) Mix equal parts of Dawn and warm vinegar together, and put in spray bottle
2) Spray all over your tub and let sit for an hour
3) Wipe down and rinse
I tried this in my tub, but my tub wasn't all nasty like the pin shows, so I didn't see too much of a difference. It did the job, just like my other method (dawn and baking soda). I didn't have to scrub as hard, but I think I like scrubbing because I know its working.
Then I tried it on my master shower, which isn't as nice (because its original to 1959). It wasn't that impressive there either.
Overall, I feel I used a lot of Dawn, which isn't cheap, and it smelled funny with the mixture of Dawn and Vinegar. Would I write this one totally off? No. But, I am not going to tell you to do it. I did like parts of it. I think in the future I will put my Dawn with water in the spray bottle and then sprinkle baking soda over it, scrub and wipe it down. I think that will work best for me. Either way- no bleach smell that makes you want to vomit :)

My Favorite Apps (besides the Obvious)
iPhone:
1) iMapMyRunFree
http://www.mapmyrun.com/my_home/
This app uses Google maps and maps your run. It also tells you your speed, your elevation changes, and your pace, as well as your calorie burn. You can also use this app for bikes.
2) Shazam
http://www.shazam.com/
Shazam listens to the music you are listening to, tells you who it is, and links you to iTunes so you can buy the song.
3) InstaFrame Free
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/instapicframe-picture-frames/id527860351?mt=8
This adds to the capabilities of Instagram with cooler frames, coloring, and also allows multiple pictures in each frame
4) Yelp
http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=&find_loc=66207&ns=1&ls=aee7a5eee5066820
I like this best when I travel because I can find good restaurants, and get directions to them
5) Espn FFL
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/espn-fantasy-football-2012/id389073226?mt=8
I can check my fantasy games on the go, as well as see the scores/stats for all NFL games at the time
iPad:
1) NBC/ABC
I lumped these together because I use them for the same reason: to watch shows on my iPad.
2) Kindle
I love reading on my iPad, but I really like that if I pick up my iPhone, Kindle takes me to the last page I read on my iPad.
3) Sign N Send Free
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sign-n-send-free/id398995647?mt=8
I use this for work alot. It will take picture, PDFs, etc, and I can draw all over them or sign them, and then I can email it to myself, or to a customer.
4) TripAdvisor
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tripadvisor-hotels-flights/id284876795?mt=8
I am a planner, and have found I REALLY like using TripAdvisor. I am currently working on a trip to Europe and I can save favorite hotels, restaurants, things to do, get pictures, and see reviews. It has been really helpful, and I like the way it is set up.

Oops, missed a few
Alrighty. Yes I missed a few posts. And guess what, I wasn't the best at eating great too. I had French fries twice in the past week, but I did help a friend move on Saturday, and that was a good extra workout.
I was not able to have my "Monday, Run Day" because it was 90* till 7. I made up for it yesterday. Instead of doing my normal "run for 5, walk for 1", I changed it up with a run for 10, followed by a 1 min walk, and then " run for 6, walk for 1". It worked well till I got a nasty side ache, which went away and I got another good run in. We covered 3.5 miles in 36 min. I was happy and the dog is exhausted.
I was nervous to weigh myself this AM, and it was okay. 133.2 lbs, down a half lb.
I will be better and blog tomorrow! Peace!!!

1 bite of low fat ice cream
Workout:

35 min of really intense leg exercises

Tuesday Diary, 3/27
Tuesday's Food (brutally honest):
clementine
protein bar
a few grapes
crackers
little piece of cheese
artichoke dip
blue chips
salami (sooo bad)
sweet peppers
celery
clementine
Cous cous
Chicken breast (with basil pesto seasoning)
Broccoli
2 Snickerdoodles (thank God, those are gone)
I went to a networking meeting for lunch, hence the really long list of bite size snacks
After work, I did 30 jumping jacks, followed by shoulder and chest exercises and vacuumed the kitchen (that is a workout)!
Lastly, I decided that Wednesday is a good Weigh Day, since it starts with "W". LOL. My last weight of 136, was done middle of the day either Sat. or Sun. Morning weigh ins are better, because it is the most consistent. I weighed 133.8lbs this AM. I am not tooting a big horn or anything, because who knows, maybe I weighed that much in the AM on the day I was 136. So till next week, we will see.
Oh, and a major shout-out to Biggest Loser. Total inspiration!!!
